High End to High Street

There are plenty of “lust-worthy” fashion pieces I am drooling over at the moment. And because the real deal is not realistically obtainable, I have hunted down more affordable versions. I will continue this post every few weeks with the title, High End to High Street. High Street is a term often used in the UK for shops that are for the everyday girl….in other words, it will not leave a hole in your wallet. Below are my currents scores of the look-for-less.

In love with this shoot of Rosie Huntington-Whiteley for Vogue Brazil April edition. A perfect mix of leather, fur and sparkle to create the rocker chic vibe. Below are some behind the scene pics of the shoot.

We had 10 minutes to shoot these pictures yesterday and I have to say, the flowers serve as the perfect backdrop for this blouse! How great are these colors? I also love the print of this blouse from Leifsdottir at Anthropologie. I was in need of a good neutral pair of pumps and found these on Gilt Groupe. By far one of the best sites to find designer items at a fraction of the normal cost. Have a great day friends. Xx, Steph

THE Hat

Screen Shot 2013-04-30 at 8.21.19 AM

I have been wearing this Rag & Bone hat non-stop. Surprising even to myself, I never wear hats, until now! I’ve been receiving a lot of compliments on it, so here it is…..THE hat.  It is quite possibly my favorite thing at the moment. Not only does Rag & Bone make killer denim, their accesories aren’t too shabby either:) Have a great day!

April In Pictures

April1 April3

Hello friends! If you follow me on Instagram or Facebook, I’m sure you’ve noticed I spent the first half of the month in China. As the denim fit model for junior company, Pacsun, I traveled to China with a team consisting of a designer, technical designer, production managers, creative director and buyer. The largest team I have traveled with for work to date! It was a whirlwind trip, spending long hours in factories fitting and perfecting garments for their “Back-to-School” season. I flew back and went straight to Palm Springs for a weekend at Coachella Music Festival with my husband, sis and friends. So much fun, but an exhausting month to say the least! Lastly, this weekend I had a reunion with my best girlfriends from college. It was the perfect end to a crazy month.

Fairground Style 2

Continuing from my last post, here are a few more essential layering pieces perfect for festivals…just a few more days until Coachella! Every girl needs a chambray shirt in her closet. My favorite is from Madewell at the moment, and I throw it on over everything. Mara Hoffman has been creating the cutest swimwear the last few seasons in fun, bright prints. Pool parties….check. Oh, and speaking of those hours spent in the sun, you’ll definitely need a good sunblock. My sis introduced me to this Clarins tinted sunblock that has just the right amount of coverage. And since I have been in China for the last few weeks, I will be heavily covering myself in Neutrogena self tanner. I have not seen the sun or blue sky for over a week! Last but not least, I prefer  to carry a cross-body bag big enough to store a pair of tights in case it gets chilly at night. Tie a scarf around the bag strap for an additional layer which doubles as a cute detail during the day. See you in Palm Springs!

Coachella

Festival season is already in full swing and Coachella is just around the corner. Fairgrounds, depending on location, can be tricky in terms of attire…dusty, crowded, hot during the day and cold at night. With this in mind, ideal outfits should consist of easy layering pieces and closed toe shoes to avoid broken toes in massive crowds of crazed music fans. Proceed with style and caution.

{Wearstlerized}

I have been a huge fan of Kelly Wearstler for years. I came across pictures of a project she had recently completed for the remodel and interior design of a boutique hotel. Instantly, I was drawn to her modern and sophisticated design style. I still want to stay at these hotels just for the fabulous interiors! I soon discovered that she is just as talented when it comes to fashion design. And to add to that, she can make a killer jewelry collection which I am still waiting to get my hands on!

I’ve loved these Brass Kaleidoscope’s for quite some time. I was stunned to find similar ones at Pigment (first featured here) for a fraction of the cost! Even better, the version at Pigment have wall mounts while the Kelly Wearstler version are strictly for table top decor. Now, mine live happily in my “work-in-progress” living room. Can you guess which one is the original? Ok…Pigment’s version is number 1!
